My family loves these chicken tacos made in a crockpot. The chicken is incredibly flavorful, tender, and absolutely delicious, often leaving us craving seconds.

  • 1 Crockpot

Ingredients

  • 4 Chicken Breast
  • 2 cubes chicken bouillon flavor
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp adobo seasoning purchased at Sprouts
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 16 oz salsa I used Del Rio salsa
  • 15 oz chicken broth
  • 12 tortillas for serving
  • 1 tomato, chopped for serving
  • 1/2 head lettuce, shredded for serving
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped for serving
  • 1 avocado, chopped for serving
  • 1 cup cheese, shredded for serving
  • 1/2 onion, chopped for serving

Instructions

  • Apply cooking spray or use a slow cooker liner to coat the inside of a slow cooker for easy clean-up.
  • Sprinkle the bouillon cubes onto the chicken. Then sprinkle the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, adobo, and cumin on top.
  • Pour the salsa over the chicken, followed by pouring the chicken broth around the chicken.
  • Place the lid on and cook for 6 hours or until the chicken reaches 165 degrees.
  • Shred chicken in the crockpot and mix everything together.

  • Warm the tortillas and place the shredded chicken onto each tortilla.
  • Serve the prepared tortillas as tacos and garnish with your favorite toppings.

Notes

Cook the recipe on low temperature for better results, as higher heat may result in less tender chicken.
