Seared Ahi Tuna
Indulge in the mouthwatering goodness of our Seared Ahi tuna recipe – a delightful combination of flavor and simplicity, made with just 2 ingredients.
Ingredients
- 2 Ahi tuna steaks
- 1/4 cup Teriyaki sauce I use Soyaki sauce from Trader Joes
- Sesame seeds Optional for garnish
Instructions
- Place the Ahi tuna steaks in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Ensure that the steaks are coated evenly. Let them marinate for at least 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Heat the grill on high heat. Make sure the grill is very hot before adding the tuna.
- Remove the tuna steaks from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off.
- Carefully place the tuna steaks in the hot grill and sear for approximately 1-2 minutes per side, depending on the thickness of the steaks. The goal is to sear the outside while keeping the inside rare.
- Once seared, remove the tuna steaks from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
- Slice the seared Ahi tuna into thin strips and arrange them on a serving plate.
- Optional: Sprinkle with sesame seeds for garnish.
- Serve the seared Ahi tuna with your choice of dipping sauce, such as soy sauce or a wasabi mayo.
- Enjoy your delicious seared Ahi tuna!
