The Ingredients for the Crab Cakes
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Eggs
- Mayo
- Dijon mustard
- Worcestershire sauce
- Old Bay seasoning
- Salt
- Celery
- Crab meat
- Panko bread crumbs
Preparation of the Crab Cakes
To start, crack the eggs into a bowl and add the mayo, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, salt, parsley, and celery. Mix everything together until well-combined. This mixture will serve as the base for our crab cakes.
Next, add the crab meat and panko bread crumbs to the bowl. Gently toss the mixture together until all the ingredients are evenly distributed. Be careful not to overmix, as we want to maintain the chunks of crab meat for a delicious texture.
Now it’s time to shape the crab cakes. Take about a handful of the mixture and form it into a patty. Repeat this process until you have six crab cakes ready to be cooked. Next, cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. This helps them set.
Preheat your Air Fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Once it’s heated, carefully place the crab cakes inside the Air Fryer basket. Cook them for 8-10 minutes, until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
Instructions for the Tartar Sauce
While the crab cakes are cooking, let’s make the tartar sauce to complement the flavors. In a small bowl, combine mayo, relish, Dijon mustard, red onion, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together until well-incorporated. This tangy and creamy sauce will add a delightful touch to your crab cakes.
Once the crab cakes are done, remove them from the Air Fryer and serve them hot with the tartar sauce on the side. The combination of the crispy exterior and the tender crab meat on the inside is truly irresistible.
These Best Air Fryer Crab Cakes are not only delicious but also easy to prepare. The Air Fryer eliminates the need for excessive oil while still achieving that satisfying crunch. Whether you’re hosting a dinner party or simply craving a seafood feast, these crab cakes are sure to impress.
